Character Class

This project explores the concept of character classes in traditional role-playing games (RPGs) by designing a character from a chosen class. The process began with mood boards and visual research, analyzing existing characters from a variety of games. I then created silhouettes for four distinct classes: warrior, rogue, mage, and ranger. From these silhouettes, I selected three and developed detailed character designs, including illustrations for running, standing, and defense poses. I focused on designing clothing, weapons, and posture specific to each class. Moving on with one final selection, the final deliverables for the character included three sets of color palettes applied to three poses designed to illustrate the class and personality of the character.

The character was then reinterpreted into pixel art style, with the imagined settings to be designing a visual asset for a side-scrolling game. The pixel art style started with silhouettes and sketches of potential poses, and arrived at a 128px by 128px pixel art drawing with a newly edited color palette.
